I simultaneously love and hate stories like this. I would be asking myself, why would somebody abandon a car in the woods? I would bet money that either the engine or transmission is toast. Certainly not “hey lets just fix it and drive it home”

David Freiburger (RoadKill) would be simultaneously proud and jealous. I love to see stuff like this and also that it’s irrespective of continent, the fever is universal.

Looks like it was missing an engine. My suspicion given its remote location and the metal pieces is that it was dragged up there as a hunting cabin or for storage back when old VW vans were basically worth scrap.

Oh yeah, they threw a brand new engine didn’t they? huh. I am not sure if that makes this better or worse.
